Dr. Vitalis Orikeze Ajumbe was born in 1960 to the humble family of Ogaranya Canice Ajumbe Ibeh and Lucy Ajumbe Ibeh of Umuofor Amaimo in Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State.
Chief Dr. Vitalis Orikeze Ajumbe finished his primary education at Umuofor Community School Amaimo and his secondary education at Obazu community secondary school Mbieri in Mbaitoli Local government Area of Imo State before proceeding to the Alvan Ikoku College of Education Owerri where he graduated as a Musicologist. He attended Abubakar Tafawa Belewa University for the Advanced Certificate in Mass Communications and also has his post-graduate Diploma (PGD) in Journalism from the International Institute of Journalism (IIJ) affiliated to the University of Maiduguri. He is a London trained Audio engineer and a holder of P.HD in business administration 1994, (honoris causa) from The Cornerstone University of the State of Hawaii, U.S.A., and Ambassador of Peace from the Universal Peace Federation,
