HON. LADY JOY MBAWUIKE

 

 

Hon. Lady Joy Mbawuike (Nneoma) was born in Okwelle in Onuimo LGA and married to High Chief Sir Goddy Mbawuike of Umuohiri in Nneato Nweafor Autonomous community in Isiala Mbano LGA, Imo State, Nigeria. The marriage is blessed with children.

 

She is a devout Christian of the Roman Catholic Denomination who has contributed greatly to the advancement of God's work even beyond her immediate community.

 

She is well read, up to Masters Degree level and has numerous other certificates, diplomas and adjuncts. She has an unending list of merit award from Local and International bodies based on service delivery to communities and humanity in general. She is an enterprising young lady with immense passion for philanthropy and charity.

 

Her unquantifiable contributions in raising many co-operative societies for women and Youths in her immediate community and beyond is unparallel. This has helped to reduce poverty in her locality.

 

Her husband, High Chief Sir Mbawuike is an accomplished business man and strongly supportive of her philanthropic gestures and the activities and projects of her foundation - LADY JOY MBAWUIKE FOUNDATION and this has contributed immensely to her positive impact in politics.

 

She worked with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd. (NNPC) where she meritoriously retired in 2014.

 

Through her foundation - LADY JOY MBAWUIKE FOUNDATION, she has empowered numerous sons and daughters of Isiala Mbano and beyond. Some of her empowerment programs include the following:

 

 

 

 

 

1.   Empowerment of indigent women, widows, artisans of Isiala Mbano with financial and material resources to start petty trading.

2.       She provided scholarship grants to deserving students of Isiala Mbano origin.

3.       She provided free ICT/COMPUTER empowerments to the Youths  of Isiala    Mbano                                          

4.       She organize a talent hunt for all the Secondary Schools in Isiala Mbano        where the winners were handsomely rewarded.

5.       She  provided   deserving   youth   with   motorcycles,   sewing   machines, vulcanizing machines etc

6.       She provided   soft   grants   to   the   chairladies   of  all the   Autonomous   Communities in Isiala Mbano to start petty trading.

7.       She visited all the 38 Autonomous Communities of Isiala Mbano during the    2012/2013 Women August Meeting where she empowered 20 women each           with cash and wrappers.

8.       The foundation visited to empower and provide cash and material gifts to      Mercy Motherless Babies Home, Okwelle, Onuimo LGA, Imo State.

9.       She provides free tutorial to intending JAMB, WAEC and NECO candidates in         Isiala Mbano.

10.     She registered those  students  who  passed  with the  required 5  credits for

University admission to write UTME.

11.     She has provided succor for the physically challenged youths in Isiala Mbano by providing wheel Chairs and crutches.

12.     In 2014 she visited 20 churches of the Anglican Communion where she empowered 10 women each with cash and wrapper while the churches were presented with Hymn Book.

 

Hon. Lady Joy Mbawuike is popularly known and called "Motherhood across

Boundaries “because of her non-partisan position when it comes to poverty alleviation and empowerment.
