BARRISTER MILETUS MADUAKOLAM ONUKAOGU NLEMEDIM
Barrister Nlemedim Miletus Onukaogu was born on the 5th day of October, 1967 into the family of late Nze Theophilus and Lolo Janet Nlemedim of Umulolo Ihuoba Obudi Agwa Autonomous Community in Oguta LGA, Imo State of Nigeria.
He attended Community Central School Agwa 1 from 1972 to 1977 where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC). He then proceeded to Saint Michaels Secondary School Orsu-Obodo, Oguta LGA where he did his Form One and Form Two from 1977 to 1978 . After that he attended the prestigious Trinity High School Oguta, where he obtained an excellent result in his WAEC / GCE (O`level) Certificate in 1982. Between 1982 and 1984, he attended government Secondary School Owerri, where he obtained his Higher School Certificate (HSC) in 1984.
In 1984 Barrister M. O. Nlemedim proceeded to the University of Calabar to study law. In UNICAL he was the president of Ohaji Egbema Students Association (1986 to 1989). He successfully completed his law programme and obtained a Bachelor Degree in law ( LL.B. Hons) in 1988 and then headed to the Nigerian Law School Lagos where he obtained a Barrister at law (BL) in1989
Barrister M.O. Nlemedim did his compulsory National Youth Service Programme as the state counsel in Plateau State Ministry of Justice, Jos from 1989 to 1990 . upon his return from the NYSC service, he reluctantly obeyed a clarion and overwhelming call of the people of Obudi Agwa (his people) to represent them as Councilor in Ohaji Egbema /Oguta L.G.A. legislative Council .
He was the youngest of all the Councilors in Ohaji Egbema under that dispensation. He was also the Supervisory Councilor for Works and Housing in the LGA.
Upon the splitting of the then Ohaji/Egbema /Oguta L.G.A into Ohaji Egbema and Oguta LGAs in 1991, Barr. Nlemedim was re-elected as the Councilor for Obudi Aro Ward in the new Oguta L.G.A. on 23rd November, 1991. He was appointed the Secretary to Oguta LG and he voluntarily resigned as councilor. He was the Secretary of Security Committee, Oguta L.G.A (1992 to 1993) and member Boundary Peace Committee, Oguta L.G.A from 1995 to 1997. In 2006, Barrister M.O. Nlemedim was the Secretary General, National Executive Council, Obudi Agwa Development Union (O. D. U.). In the year 2000 he was elected as the Chairman Obudi Agwa Development Union and served till 2005 . He has also served as the Secretary General Agwa Central Union (ADU) from 1997 to 2001.
