IMO YOUTHS UNFOLDS AGRICULTURAL AGENDA
Plans are on the way for youths in Imo State to embark on active and productive agricultural practices that would ensure food security and drastically reduce unemployment.
The Special Adviser to Imo State Governor on Youth Affairs Comrade Kenneth Emelu, disclosed the agricultural agenda of some Imo Youths, during a meeting with the governor in Ideato South.
Emelu who was the immediate past commissioner for Youths and Sports in the state explained that the youths have a well outlined plans to embark on small scale agro farms that have the capacity to improve the peoples means of livelihood.
Comrade Emelu, said that the youths have focused on agriculture and are well prepared to implement their plans inline with the state government agricultural policy.
According to the SA Youths their plans were motivated by the agricultural policy of the state Governor, Owelle Okorocha and the need to diversify the economy.
He sized opportunity to solicit support for provision of soft loans, to them go extra mile with their agricultural agenda.
The youth adviser who observed that Governor Okorocha has given priority to job creation also noted that he has given the youth a sense of belonging in his first tenure and urged him to carry them along in the scheme of things.
